Spring has sprung

Easter is the perfect opportunity to wear one of your louder hats (just so long as it's warm enough! Last year was quite chilly!).

This year, I opted to build an outfit around this stellar floral 50s topper!

A classic circle skirt and a pastel green sweater were just the ticket to balance the loudness of the hat.

Other outfit details include coordinating brown ribbon, vintage beaded white gloves, pearl earrings and a great pink lipstick.

I also wore my largest crinoline for perfect twirl-ability!

I had loads of fun with these great white beaded gloves!

I actually really like how this hat looks like with a pixie. I can't imagine how loud it would be with a mass of curls exploding out from under it. If I had longer hair, I'd probably style it with a low bun and maybe some curly bangs.

Did you wear a fabulous hat for Easter? Do leave a link in the comments so I can see your Easter hats!

  5. Beautiful flowers! Isn't it great to have a good reason to break out the really fun pieces? Up here in Wisconsin, I wore a wool skirt and jacket with fur collar. My hat was trimmed with white mink as well and...a veil! I think it's time to step up our hats from the typical, low-profile felties!

  7. Oh my, that's a fabulous hat! I love the way you built the rest of your outfit around it, especially the gloves. The flower motifs on the skirt finish the whole thing off perfectly.

  10. Such a nice outfit. Love the hat and gloves, But my favorite is the crown of flowers. Just reading last night that the floral headbands are back in style and after seeing yours I know why. Perfect added touch.

  12. Splendidly pretty Easter outfit! That hat is the perfect topper for this lighthearted, beautiful time of the year. Now is when I usually reach for my most floral bedecked chapeaus, too - how can one not when the world is teaming with blooms once again?

  13. No hat, but definitely wore a dress, which felt so nice after months of bitter cold. I love your knitted top, did you make it?

  15. That hat is awesome. I agree, Easter is always a fantastic excuse for the biggest and the loudest. I didn't get any "real" pictures of mine (just one on instagram, but it's a giant lemon-meringue colored poof of a hat that I suspect belonged to a parishoner in the 80s.
I just love your skirt and gloves as well, you look so springy.

  17. Oh, that's pretty! That hat is something special. (The jumper is from ASIT vol 2, yes? Susan Crawford has a peach-coloured version.)
